Glad you're enjoying the beta folks.
Remember that it IS a beta however - framerates are very much on our mind and we have a number of tasks to go through on these, so without promising anything, I can say we're acutely aware and absolutely have work to do
Raildriver/Joystick support - definitely on my hit list but if I have to choose between time spent on more FPS and time spent on controllers, at the moment it's the FPS. That said, if you know me you know that i'm a big fan of getting external hardware and software working with TS (I rewrote the raildriver support in the current TS core so that it worked better and had access to every controller for example) - and again, without making any promises, I absolutely want to be able to drive the game with external devices
Lot of work for us to do between now and release, but that's fine, we have a lot of talented people to do it
Keep up the feedback to the official beta forum and to the dovetail support folks, that's where most of the team are directing their attentions to handle peoples comments, issues and feedback. There is also a known issues list on the beta forum.

TS: World Beta FAQ
What is Train Sim World?
Train Sim World is a first person train simulator built using Unreal Engine 4 technology. It accurately replicates real world physics using a bespoke vehicle dynamics engine that we have created called SimuGraph. Train Sim World is designed to be a different but complementary experience to the current Train Simulator product.
When is Train Sim World coming out?
Initially we plan to launch the Train Sim World beta program in early December 2016 (8th -19th December). The beta will provide a taste of the broad range of content available in the full game including one of the three locos; two sections of the overall route, the stunning Sand Patch Grade route in the US; some of the career scenarios and tutorials; some limited pre-sets of the final weather system and a subset of the 24-hour timetable. Anyone interested in getting hands on with it will be able to sign up via Train Simulator 2017: Pioneers Edition. We will then release Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul in Spring 2017. Pricing is yet to be finalised.
As a Train Simulator owner will I get upgraded to Train Sim World for free?
Train Sim World is a separate product to the existing Train Simulator platform and as such will need to be purchased separately.
As a Train Simulator owner will I get some form of discount on Train Sim World?
We are looking at incentives / benefits for beta participants which we will announce at a later date.
Is my Train Simulator DLC collection going to be compatible with Train Sim World?
Train Simulator and Train Sim World are entirely separate products built on completely different technology foundations, and so we are unable to provide backward compatibility between them. In order to create a truly next-generation train simulation experience, we needed to build core features such as vehicle physics, engine propulsion, signalling and dispatcher systems from the ground up to more accurately reflect their real-world counterparts.
Will you be remaking content that is already available in Train Simulator for Train Sim World?
Certain routes and locos available for the existing Train Simulator product will inherently find their way onto TSW, but we will also be looking to provide new content and experiences for players with this new platform going forward.
Should content I own in Train Simulator be recreated in Train Sim World, will I get the upgraded version for free/discounted?
Train Simulator and Train Sim World are entirely separate products built on completely different technology foundations so there are no plans to offer upgrades or discounts between the two.
Will there be a “season pass” or DLC bundle down the road?
It's a little too early to for us to be able to confirm these kinds of promotions.
Will you continue to support Train Simulator when Train Sim World is released?
We will continue to release content both in house and alongside our third party partners for Train Simulator for the foreseeable future and will continue to support the game for as long as players want to continue building their collections.
Will there be multiplayer in TSW?
Multiplayer is still in development and will therefore not feature in the Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul Beta. However, we are planning for multiplayer to become a key feature of the Train Sim World experience and this is currently scheduled to arrive in Fall 2017.
When will the next TSW route release?
We are aiming for a Fall 2017 release for the second route.

It’s called Train Sim World; tell us about this ‘world’ and what it means?
Over the next few years we think the scope of Train Sim World will be limitless. We are aiming to create the most immersive, interactive and compelling train simulator imaginable. Train Sim World alludes to the future scope and variety of the experiences and content that you will encounter, a ‘world’ of all things rail related. This world will take time to create however and the way to do that is to build it one layer at a time. This is why we are starting with one particular American freight experience where we can focus on replicating the performance and sounds of the locos, the nature of the terrain and the conditions as the first building block. Next we will move on to creating passenger experiences, adding different signalling systems and train types and introducing game changing features like multiplayer and different modes of play. We want our players to understand that this is a product that will evolve significantly over time and the reason for that is it’s the best way to provide both the breadth and depth of content and experience that rail fans are looking for. All this is underpinned by building the product using the latest and best technologies that in the long term will give us the freedom and flexibility to take the experience in many different directions.
What languages will be supported?
English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese initially.
Does Train Sim World support the use of Raildriver/other peripherals?
The use of all peripherals is currently under discussion and we will provide more details as soon as they are confirmed. However, the beta will not support these things.
Where can I buy Train Sim World?
You will be able to purchase Train Sim World on Windows PC via Steam and through the Xbox One store upon its full release in 2017.
Will there be virtual reality support for Train Sim World?
We are aware that virtual reality is a very promising prospect for the simulation genre as a whole and we are exploring this opportunity for TSW. However, we are unable to confirm any VR support at this time.
Will I be able to create my own routes and publish them through your partnership program?
The tools that will allow partnered developers to make routes and other content are currently still in development but following that we have every intention to bring the partnership program to TSW.
How will Train Sim World interact with Dovetail Live?
