Absolutely. As we mentioned at the time of the Beta, they were not included because there was still work ongoing at the time. That work has been done and will be a feature of the final release. One thing we have also added with Train Sim World is that all characters in the cabs are dynamic. This means you’ll see a range of different people in the cab of passing trains.

Locomotives that are coupled together have multiple unit capability using the electrical MU hoses as in reality. So, you have to set up trailing locomotives to be operated as such to ensure they will receive commands from the lead locomotive. If you don’t do that, then you could opt to set them up as dead-in-tow, or have them locked in to the brake system but not the throttle control system so they become like fitted brake heavy cars.
For distributed power not connected electrically, we use the radio system. Locomotives that are in the consist but not connected directly will listen and react to what the lead unit is doing if their radio is turned on (and the lead unit radio is on). If you want the trailing locomotives to be individually controlled (by you jumping in to the cab for example) then you would turn its radio off and separately control that unit. If you want to have the other units simply react to your lead unit settings, then you will need to make sure the radios are on and they’ll apply power and brake accordingly. If your distributed power is also coupled with other locomotives, those will work as a single unit if those are set up in MU configuration. i.e. at the head you have a pair of locomotives, at the rear you have another pair. You set the head pair up as lead/trail and set the rear pair up as lead/trail. Now, if the two leads have radios on, the rear set will react to the head set. If the radios aren’t on, then the rear set can be driven as a single entity by operating the controls in the rear lead unit.
Every locomotive can be individually cold started If it’s shut down of course and every locomotive can be individually configured for how it sits in the MU system. On the AC4400CW this is done via the IFD screens. On the SD40-2 and GP38-2 it’s done via the valves and switches on the stand.

Train Sim World is still undergoing some final tweaks. The track is one of those things that is currently being worked on and it will look considerably better in the next build we’re able to get screenshots from.
