Engine room is not accessible in the 66. I'll find out what the status is for walking between the carriages and DMU as soon as the office is a little more full

You will not be able to gain access to the engine rooms on either the Class 66 or HST. Unlike US locomotives, there is little that you can interact with as the fundamental controls are either situated in the cab, outside the locomotive, or both. As for mirrors, we did look into this but as it pretty much halved the frame rate, it’s going to take more work to make it feasible – so it will come along at a later date once we’ve worked out the best way to do them without murdering the frame rate.

Class 66 drivers don’t usually walk through the engine room to reach the other cab adigyran but, as has always been possible, you can simply use Ctrl and = to swap cabs. Also, drivers and guards do not pass from HST cabs to coaches, it is expressly forbidden, that’s why the trains are fitted with telephones, radio equipment and buzzers to communicate with each other.
Yes, it’s possible to walk the entire length of the train while it’s in motion – which I have to say is really very cool!
No, you cannot get into the luggage compartment on the HST, there really isn’t anything to use in there and as you wouldn’t be able to move from it to anywhere else other than outside, we felt there wasn’t much point to it. It may be something we’ll look into further down the line, particularly when Multiplayer comes along but for the time-being at least, you won’t be able to gain access.

The buffers on the Class 66 has so much more than just animation, they have proper physics and will deflect and move based on the loads placed upon them Brandon.
